Our mission is to take our customers through a culinary experience in which they can enjoy all the amazing flavors that characterize the Asian cuisine. Shibo is a place where you find traditional and special Asian dishes that are all product of Chef Cruz’s creativity. Thanks to his touch and attention to detail this experience becomes one that you will want to repeat again and again. Besides our Asian dishes, we offer a variety of raw, ceviche and sushi options that are made up of fresh local products. We also offer fresh local fish, which is used to prepare delicious Peruvian fusion dishes, including the best sushi creations you will ever taste!

In addition to our regular menu, we offer weekly Chef specials that go perfect with our wide variety of Asian fusion cocktails, sakes and Japanese whiskeys. Although Shibo is not the place would expect to find at Calle Loiza, you will be so glad you did! Our team is always compromised to give the best service and is ready to help you make your experience at Shibo fulfilling!

About our Chef

I discovered my love for food when I was only 14 years-old while working on food trucks at local festivals. In 2004, I got a job at a sandwich franchise while attending the University of Puerto Rico. After a couple of years of trying out different art-related concentrations, in 2007 I decided to pursue Culinary Arts. Not only I got more jobs opportunities than other fields, I was able to express my creativity through my cooking. While studying to get my degree, I worked on different restaurants, from Caribbean and Spanish cuisine to International Creative cuisine. On June 2014 I received my bachelor’s degree on Culinary Management from la Universidad del ESTE. Working on different restaurants over the years helped me gather knowledge and experience in different types of cuisines, experience that led to opening Shibo, place full of creativity and innovation. In 2016, when I started this new journey I knew there was nothing I wanted to do more than to keep on learning. So, throughout the years I’ve been able to travel around the world and expand my knowledge in this industry. Cooking is my passion and I love to learn and the most gratifying thing of all is to be able to share it with you!
